Heard While Opening Presents

As she was opening a toughie - the wrapping did NOT want to come off:

"Maybe it's a little racoon!"

After reading a card encouraging her to grow in God's richness - a card that contained a $50 bill:

"Grow in richness...like this money here!"

Little Girl cracks me up.

Hello...I recently found your blog and have been enjoying going through some older posts. I am a college student and am thoroughly enjoying yours and other Catholic mom blogs that I've found recently. I noticed your discriminating taste in movies and books for your daughters. Having been a voracious reader myself, I thought I'd suggest some (although you probably have already gotten to all of these):

books--Noel Streatfeild's "shoe" books (Ballet Shoes, Theater Shoes, etc.), Keith Robertson's Henry Reed series, "The Midnight Fox" by Betsy Byars, "Little Women" is probably already on your list, but have you read "Little Men"? "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Belles on Their Toes" by Gilbreth and Carey, the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books.

movies--Little Women (the most recent version with Wynona Ryder) is absolutely lovely, especially the soundtrack.
Meet Me in St. Louis
For when they are a bit older, the newest Pride and Prejudice (while not my favorite) is pretty much approriate, if I'm remembering correctly.

Thinking back, I found most of these completely safe for kids, but you may want to double-check first ; ) I know this is unsolicited, but I know how hard it is to find quality books and movies so I thought I would share!

Who are your heros?
